Cumberland Valley Youth Baseball (CVYB) provides the opportunity for players ages 4 to 18 from the Cumberland Valley School District to play baseball.
The league is affiliated with Babe Ruth League Cal Ripken affiliated youth baseball for ages 4-12 and the Greater West Shore Teeners League for Teeners baseball ages 13-18.
Playing up - Ages are determined by your age as of April 30, 2024.
A player has the option to try and play up 1 year early however, they will have to attend the evaluation if they are trying to play up in Pony, Minors, or Majors where depending on the number of players, ages of the players, and skill level of the player in question, the player might need to stay down. In that case if there's a cost difference in divisions, we will refund the partial amount back to make up the difference.
Teeball (Ages 4-6) - Meant for the first year player. The player is introduced to baseball using batting tees and learning basic skills of hitting, throwing, and fielding. The days for this level are option in registration of either Monday\Wednesday or Tuesday\Thursday.
Instructional (Ages 5-8) - Meant for players who have been in Teeball a year at a minimum or first year 6-8 year olds. This will be coach pitch with minimal use of a batting tee. New this year!!! Practices\Games will be on Tuesday\Thursday.
Pony (Ages 7-8) - This is the first year the player learns how to pitch to live batters and batters are able to hit off a kid pitch. It's mostly kid pitching with a little coach pitching to move games along. New this year!!! Practices\Games will be on Monday and Wednesdays.
Minors (Ages 9-10) - This is first year of "real" baseball with an umpire. stealing, full kid pitching. The pitching distance is 46 ft and base paths will be 60 ft. Practices\Games will be on Tuesday\Thursday.
Majors (Ages 11-12) - 50 ft pitching and 70ft base paths. The base runners can take full leads and steals along with introducing dropped 3rd strike and infield fly rules. Practices\Games will be on Monday\Wednesdays.
Teeners (Ages 13-18) - Players play on a full size field (60 ft pitching and 90 ft base paths). The practices are dependent on the coaches availability and the games can be any day during the week as the schedules are based on the Greater West Shore Teener league where you play other leagues. Usually starts games first week of May and goes until end of June.
Registration is open from December 1, 2023 to February 16, 2024. Early registrations earn $10 discount per family if registered by January 6, 2024.
Teeners and Legion will be extended past February 16th until the H.S. team is decided.
Evaluations will be held at the Keystone Nationals indoor facility, 5269 Simpson Ferry Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050. Park on the west side of the building near Rite Aid (or in the front) but enter on the Rite Aid side of the building to check in your player(s).

Please do NOT wear cleats. Players should bring water as well as their glove, bat, and helmet. For players who don't have a helmet or bat, we will have extras available.

Practices for Majors, Minors, Pony will start as soon as weather permits in first week of April .
Practices for Instructionals, and Teeball will start the week 2nd week of April.
Games for Majors\Minors will start weekending April 13th and Pony, Instructionals, and Teeball will start weekending April 20th
Opening day
Multi-player discount provided for families with 2+ players. This will be a $25 dollar discount for every player after the first registration plus the fundraiser raffle tickets and volunteer fee for the additional players will come off at checkout. To get the discount applied automatically through the application please click on the additional registrations option when you are registering all your players at the same time.
Fundraiser Raffle Tickets includes a $50 dollar fundraising fee that is built into the cost of registration. You'll receive five tickets valued at $10 each with uniforms. Your family keeps all money from the tickets sold.
Volunteer Deposit - The registration costs include a $50 dollar volunteer fee per family. There will be opportunities laid out to volunteer to receive the $50 dollar deposit back through volunteering on the board, coaching, or actively participating for a set amount of hours in 2024 that once you hit your hours, you will receive a refund of $50. Excludes Teeners.
As part of your registration cost, CV Youth Baseball provides each player with a team jersey, hat, and socks.
